Foster youth find a family with UFC
United Friends of the Children Annual Report 2009/10

Community Involvement

During 2009-2010 UFC received an incredible amount of support from volunteers and the local community. From helping to plant and maintain an edible garden at one of our Pathways housing sites, to successfully launching UFC’s inaugural food and wine event, our supporters got their hands dirty and worked tirelessly to make a difference. Thank you!

Linda Daly & Volunteers
Board member Toni Schulman, Linda Daly and volunteers plant an edible garden at UFC's Pathways housing site.

While sometimes it’s been hard work, going out to Whittier has been one of the most rewarding volunteer opportunities I’ve had. I’ve gotten to know some of the residents and staff and I am excited to go out every week to see what’s growing. We’re starting our winter vegetables now and should have some delicious greens for all the residents at Pathways.”
